“I came to KCP for physical therapy 19 months ago to rehab my knee after surgery for a torn meniscus and torn cartilage. I have a lot of arthritis as well, and my orthopedist said it was basically a “clean up” of the knee until I have knee replacement surgery in a few years. A few months prior to injuring my knee, I lost my mother to terminal cancer. I had not been taking care of myself during her illness and after her death. I was depressed, grieving and had gained almost 50 pounds. I was sitting on the sidelines and not really living my life anymore. When I hurt my knee and had to have the surgery, it was at one of the lowest points in my life.
Coming to KCP and working with Joyce and Joy was exactly what I needed to get back on track. These women helped put me back together–mind, body and soul. I came to rehab my knee, but soon realized that I needed to completely rehab myself in order to get my life back on track again. Joyce helped me face my fears and emotions and move forward–to dig down and trust myself, to find the confident, happy person I had been before.
I strengthened my knee and achieved 95% function. My orthopedist was surprised, having predicted an outcome of no more than 75% function based on the severity of the arthritis and injury to my knee. He attributed the success to excellent rehab (and a great surgeon, of course!). I transitioned from physical therapy to personal training at KCP. I have lost 41 pounds since I started working with Joyce and Joy, which is amazing, but what I have gained is even more important. I am no longer afraid. I have strengthened my entire body and know that I can count on it. Even better than shedding the extra pounds, I have shed the weight of grief and emotional pain that was weighing me down. I feel 10 years younger and I am lighter and happier than any scale could ever reveal. I am forever grateful for Joyce and Joy, for seeing the “real me” that was buried under extra weight, both physical and emotional, and for having faith in me when I did not have faith in myself. They have helped change my life more than they will ever know!”
KCP has been helping me for years! As an “aging athlete” I sometimes need help with a muscle or tendon injury. I get the care I need at KCP that keeps me active. I also learn how to avoid future injuries to minimize downtime from my workouts! The personal training I’ve received at KCP has really helped with this too! Thanks for everything Joy and Joyce!

I have been a client at KCP Physical Therapy for 7 years. Before I was referred to them I dealt with neck and lower back/hip pain. I had tried some of the usual avenues without success. Within 6 months of receiving treatment I was 85% better than I had been in a long time. My next step was to begin a small amount of training. I progressed even more. Over time I have incorporated one hour training at least once a week and during some periods twice a week. When KCP added Yoga classes I was all in. I now go to yoga two times a week and one day for personal training. KCP provides a holistic approach to my well being. They know my physical constraints so they are able to build my workouts and yoga around them. I am 68 years old and have never felt better.
