Client Testimonials

I have been a client at KCP Physical Therapy for 7 years. Before I was referred to them I dealt with neck and lower back/hip pain. I had tried some of the usual avenues without success. Within 6 months of receiving treatment I was 85% better than I had been in a long time. My next step was to begin a small amount of training. I progressed even more. Over time I have incorporated one hour training at least once a week and during some periods twice a week. When KCP added Yoga classes I was all in. I now go to yoga two times a week and one day for personal training. KCP provides a holistic approach to my well being. They know my physical constraints so they are able to build my workouts and yoga around them. I am 68 years old and have never felt better.

KCP has been treating me, my husband and our two daughters, ages 18 and 23, for 6+ years.  Even though each of us have been treated for different problems ranging from lower back, shoulder, ribs and neck problems, we have all been very pleased with the lasting relief we have received from their treatments.  If you are looking for a physical therapy group that will provide effective and professional care in a warm and caring environment, we highly recommend KCP.

Thanks to Joyce Kight and her wonderful team at KCP Physical Therapy for keeping me in one piece. The biggest thanks goes to the Lord. Training during this COVID season, I felt quite lethargic. And lonely, honestly. (I’m betting I’m not the only one?) I had to ask the Lord to accompany me on my runs regularly. I just had less in the tank. And He was always faithful. If He’ll show up for my silly runs, I’m sure He will for your silly (and serious) stuff too. Much love, my friends.

“We are a family that love sports and are very physically active! So seven years ago , when our son, a distance runner, suffered a foot injury at a critical point in his cross country season, we were thankful to be referred to KCP Physical Therapy!  The quick assessment and treatment of the injury enabled him to continue running through his high school and college years.

Since then, every one of us has come to KCP to see Joy and Joyce for help when we experience issues that prevent us from participating in the sports that we love.  Even my parents, who live five hours away, come to Charlotte to see Joy and Joyce .  I tell anyone who talks to me about something that causes them pain about how much KCP has made a difference in our lives.  I say, “Just call KCP!””

In the weeks after the birth of my first child I experienced 24 hour lower back and hip pain.   The pain was so debilitating that it caused me to limp when I walked and have difficulty lifting my baby.  Luckily, Joyce Kight changed my life dramatically.  For several months she provided excellent physical treatment and emotional support, eliminating my pain and fears.  When I once again experienced severe back pain after the birth of my second child, I knew who to call.  Joyce to the rescue!  After a few months of frequent treatments I was back to being the active, roll around on the floor kind of mom that my girls need.

I highly recommend Joyce Kight and KCP Physical Therapy.  The facility is great, treatment is effective, and I don’t have to worry about bringing my girls with me because the women who work there are always willing and excited to soothe a crying baby or distract an antsy toddler while I am being treated.  After almost three years of on-and-off treatments they are like my family and I actually miss having regular appointments.  Thank you to Joyce and all of the staff members!  You truly change people’s lives!

Well it takes a village!!!!! So late August of 2016 I cut my tendon and nerve in my thumb and had it surgically repaired by an awesome hand surgeon named Dr. Lois Osier. Through just some dumb bad luck I developed CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) in my left hand. Luckily my hand therapist the amazing Susan Crawford Aiken caught this and helped me try to get beyond it. It got to the point where I was on two drugs to combat this problem and I had three sellite ganglion blocks. Essentially my brain (parasympathetic nerve system) was sending bad messages to my hand causing debilitating pained function to the hand. The thumb was getting better due to all Susan’s therapy, but the hand known as Hannah always hurt. Finally the discomfort leveled off to a 2 and sometimes a 4 daily and I took myself off the drugs this past July kinda giving up and resigned to the fact that this is the way it was going to be. There are plenty of people that live with far worse chronic pain than what I had, but this was new. Lately the stinging, burning, swelling started to ramp up. I had been working with Joyce Kight (MSA swimmer) on a couple other things related to a spill and goofy stuff that happens when you get older. She mentioned taking a dry needling course and I wondered if this could potentially help my problem. Drugs are not for me. She got certified and game on. This was trigger point type therapy and I read a lot leading up to the appointment because I am a curious person. The needling can be quite unpleasant but I bought into the goals and understood the purpose. Amazing results……far exceeding expectations for one treatment. As I was driving home 20 minutes after my appointment the pain (burning, prickly, tight) left my hand like I exhaled it out of my body. The skin on my left hand felt normal for the first time in a year and a half. I almost pulled over to cry……my whole energy level and sense of well-being has changed since I had three trigger points that spoke to the hand worked on. Forever grateful to my village and new team member Joyce Kight and KCP Physical Therapy!

“The BEST! I was referred by my doctor a few years ago for various issues. KCP helped with my back, neck and shoulder problems. I was so impressed with my progress that I have stayed with them to improve my overall health, through training and yoga. I had gone to other physical therapy practices in the past, but found them impersonal. Joy, Joyce and the entire staff make everyone feel very welcome. I look forward to my appointments!”

I have suffered from migraines since I was 5 yrs old and have been to everyone from neurologists to a hypnotist for help.  Joy has been my savior!  My migraines have significantly improved since seeing Joy. Not only are my migraines less frequent, but after being worked on by Joy I just feel better overall. Everyone at the office is so incredibly nice, and super accommodating to the fact that I have to bring my 3 young children with me; to the point where my girls get so excited on PT days. Thank you so much KCP, we love you!

You got me back on my feet not once but 3 times! Thank you is not sufficient!

I want to give a big shout out to KCP physical therapy. A year ago I had a rotator cuff and biceps tendon repair and everyone there helped me thru the recovery. Joyce with her stretches, education and keeping me on task. Joy with her magic hands when I needed deep tissue work. And the wonderful team who hooked me up to the electric stim and heavenly ice packs. There is no other PT group who gives so much of themselves, never makes you feel like a number, and always makes you feel better. Eventually I transitioned to their wonderful personal training making my arms and the rest of my body stronger. KCP even offers their training classes virtually for this pandemic! Now here I am today, back with my swim team. Training/swimming with paddles and no fins. Best of all, NO shoulder PAIN. KCP deserves more than 5 stars. They are simply, outstanding!

KCP has been helping me for years! As an “aging athlete” I sometimes need help with a muscle or tendon injury. I get the care I need at KCP that keeps me active. I also learn how to avoid future injuries to minimize downtime from my workouts! The personal training I’ve received at KCP has really helped with this too! Thanks for everything Joy and Joyce!

Our family came to KCP Physical after our son, Adam, underwent 2 surgeries for a torn ACL. Adam was only 10 and had extremely delicate surgery that required a high level of expertise. Joy communicated with our surgeon and helped formulate a treatment plan that we all understood and believed in 100%. She went above and beyond when it came to caring for and treating Adam. She came in on her days off to make sure that Adam got consistent therapy and was careful not to overwork the tender repair. Joy’s work was instrumental to the full recovery of our son and we would recommend her healing touch to all that are in need.

After seeing the soft tissue work that she did with Adam, it was an easy decision on who should help me with my Planters facetious and back pain.  KCP has always communicated clearly, professionally, and executed the treatment plans as if we were family.

I am an active “senior” with a passion to remain active (running, softball, golf, etc)…During the last 3 years I have encountered muscle/soft tissue issues that made staying active difficult. I went to a Sports Medicine M.D who prescribed steroid shots and anti-inflammatory meds which helped but did not correct my problem. I finally sought help from Joyce Kight at KCP. Joyce was able to quickly assess my needs and developed therapy programs to quickly resolve my injuries. In my most recent visit, Joyce found a mis-alignment of my pelvis and corrected the alignment on the first visit. Instead of reducing my activities I have been able to set new goals, including an upcoming marathon with my son . Thanks to Joyce and her excellent staff for getting me back on track quickly and providing me with the treatment and guidance I needed to remain active and healthy.
